Snow!

Hey everyone!
I am currently lying in my living room, in front of a dying fire, wrapped in a blanket, and watching the snow fall. I know, awesome. I also can’t sleep, but that’s besides the point. I just really wanted to let you all know that I am unbelievably excited about this snow, and can’t wait to upload pictures of the aftermath tomorrow. I am uploading some pictures of the accumulation thus far, and I’m pretty excited about this one. If all goes well, I’m going sledding tomorrow!
Until an update later, cheers to everyone.
*UPDATE* I woke up to a winter wonderland. Dear Lord it is amazing out there, I’m uploading a couple more pictures to see it for youselves, but I have friends who have been shovelling their car out for an hour now. It’s pretty nuts!

The Final Countdown

Well hey there everyone,

Long time no post on my end, and I’m sorry about that…it’s been a busy month.  I want to start this post off in a shameless plug for a show I am involved in.  Fenix Theatre Co. in Portland has been producing Shakespeare in the park this summer, and after a very successful run of Taming of the Shrew at the beginning of the summer, they are about to open A Midsummer Night’s Dream.  I am a co-fight director for the project alongside the absolutely amazing Sally Wood (this woman had a C-section about 2 weeks prior to the first rehearsal, and she’s out there teaching things and kicking ass and taking names).  It’s directed by Peter Brown who directed The History Boys for Madhorse Theatre Company, and having watched it, it’s gonna be awesome.  A couple shoutouts to the cast as well, Seth Rigoletti (my drama teacher at Waynflete) is playing Demetrius, and Vano Kimmel (graduated from Waynflete with me, is now an Acting major at Clairmont) is playing a fairy in the fairy ensemble.  I’ve loved working on the show, and I can’t wait to see it, and you all should too.  It opens wendesday, and runs wednesday through saturday starting at 6 o’clock and runs for two weeks.

Headshots!

Hey everyone,

I’m home in Maine on Spring Break, just relaxing and trying to stay healthy for my NETC audition at the end of the week.  In preparation for this week I had a lot of things to do in Ithaca.  One of the places I’m auditioning for is the Maine State Music Theater in Brunswick, where I’ve wanted to work for a long time now.  This season they are doing: Light in the Piazza, Crazy For You, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and The Drowsy Chaperone for their mainstage season, and for the intern shows they’re doing: A Year with Frog and Toad, and School House Rock.  I know…it’s an amazing season.  Because of my NETC audition, however, I can’t audition for them at their local auditions, and I just couldn’t justify auditioning for only one theater instead of close to 40 at once.  So friday I recorded a DVD audition for MSMT and hopefully that will be good enough for them.  Another thing I had to get done was an update to both my resume and my headshot, because they were outdated (my resume was closer than my headshot, which was last updated fall of my junior year in high school when I was in The Sound of Music with Lyric Music Theater).

Merry Christmahanukwanzikahstice and a Happy New Year

Hey everyone,

I know it’s been a while since I posted, life got a little crazy and so I just decided to take a break from all extraneous things.  I am back however, and one of my new years resolution is to turn this into a legitimate blog which will not just be me rambling about myself (though of course, that will still happen, I have to feed my ego somehow:-D).

I was happy to find this hat in a party shop.

I was very happy to find this hat for cheap in a party shop

Anyways I’m currently in Pennsylvania at my dad’s house, I drove down here on christmas day and I’m spending a few days here, just relaxing and not doing much.  It’s 65 degrees outside right now, and the sun isn’t even out…I hate places south of Maine.  Things have been good here, I haven’t done anything but eat food, relax, sleep, and we went to a Dr. Seuss themed party last night, that was fun, and it was at this beautiful house nearby Allentown owned by a designer.  He does good work, and if he has a website I can find, I will link to his page.  If you would like to read more about it, go to my stepmother’s website and she’ll have a full write-up on there soon complete with pictures so you can see just how amazing this designer is.  She also has done other parties of his in the summer when you can see his entire grounds…the man is talented, to say the least.  I would like to give you all a christmas treat, to show my gratitude for you all.  So this is a link to my new favorite christmas song, listen and love…it is truly something special.

Fall Break / the BBC’s Thoughts on Maine

Hey everyone,

This past wednesday at noon marked the end of my first quarter of college, and the beginning of fall break.  I know that I’ve only been here for a couple months…but the break was necessary.  The prep for midterms was deadly, including a night of not sleeping, and another night of basically not sleeping.  It was hell.  Each of my midterms went well I believe, especially Stagecraft.  My favorite final class day would have to be Ballet, however, because after the first 40 minutes or so, we went outside and did improvisational ballet next to the Ithaca pond - the looks we received were priceless.  We also got to see some AWESOME Geese, which stole a lot of our attention.  Crazy wild flapping GeeseThere was also a guy feeding fish off the bridge over the pond, which was cool because there was a whole swarm of fish going for the nutrigrain bar that he was throwing, however more to the point there were these two or three large catfish that were butting in as well.  They stole our attention as well, and after many tries, I managed to get a picture of the big guy.  Big Catfish coming up for foodYou have to look hard to see him, he’s a little below the middle and looks kind of like a leaf.
