Ithaca College Sophomore Cabaret

Hey everyone,

So on May 2nd, some of the members of the class of 2012 here at Ithaca College Department of Theatre Arts put on a cabaret to raise money for The Dysautonomia Foundation. We filmed the cabaret and I have put up the videos that people involved wanted posted. So there are some gaps as some people preferred to keep themselves YouTube free, however you can see all the posted videos at Ned’s YouTube Page or in the player posted below!

Here is some information on the Dysautonomia Foundation: FamilialDysautonomia (FD) is a rare genetic neurological condition that affects the sensory and autonomic nervous systems, causing severe gastrointestinal, cardiac, pulmonary, orthopedic, renal and ophthalmologic problems. The Dysautonomia Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity that supports medical treatment, research, public awareness and social services for the benefit of people afflicted with FD. The Foundation has established the world’s only two FD treatment centers and is the largest single source of funding for research and treatment specifically for the benefit of people with FD. The Hunted Contest: All the Videos Entered!

Hey everyone,

So the contest has closed to new video submissions, and now all of us who have entered have to wait the week to see the outcome. I thought I’d post a large post now that links everyone’s videos so there’s a nice centralized place to watch all the videos in this contest. Some of them are really quite fantastic, and it’s nice for everyone to get exposure to a new group of people. I’ve been talking a lot with the creators of some of these episodes, and some pretty big The Hunted plans are in the works. I can’t talk a lot about them because we want it to be a surprise when it happens, but I think everyone will be really happy with the outcome. The Hunted is starting take off for lots of people so be sure to look for more new episodes in the next year or so.

Anyways I’ll start with our player with our three episodes. If you’ve watched them already, feel free to give them another look, or if you just want to see what everyone else is doing, feel free to scroll down past this player and look at it.

A Fond Farewell: George Merritt

Hey everyone,

This is a sadder post to pay homage to a great man.  My senior year in high school I performed in a show called “Broadway at Good Theater” at Good Theater in Portland Maine.  I sang “Muddy Water” from Big River with a man named George Merritt.  George passed away at the age of 67 on February 15th.  I found out on Friday the 19th when I went to see The Importance of Being Ernest at Good Theater.  I remarked to Brian Allen (the Artistic Director) that I still had George’s name on my resumé and he quietly asked me if I was aware if George had passed away.

I was stunned to say the least.  You see I only knew him for a total of about 4 days, but we had so much fun singing that song, and we talked at great lengths backstage, and afterwards George immediately emailed me to keep in touch.  He was like that, he was always reaching out.  His obituary can be found here and it talks about many of his charitable activities.  He sent me an email or a message on facebook/linkedin every couple months or so to see what I’d been doing, and to update me on what he and his wife had been doing.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hey everyone,

So it’s that time of the year where we all get together and stuff our faces in honor of good in the world.  That’s not me being sarcastic either, I love that tradition (I love food).  There’s not much to report here, I just hope that everyone’s having a phenomenal thanksgiving, that all my college friends are having wonderful breaks from school, and that everyone in my life is taking a day to relax, and just enjoy themselves.  I know I am.  I’m here in Allentown at my dad’s house with my Dad, Diana, Devan, and Graham joined me for thanksgiving as well.  We’re about to go out to a large thanksgiving gathering of friends which should be fun, and should have too much food involved.

My break has consisted of relaxing and eating and sleeping.  I’ve watched a bunch of football with Jason, played video games with Derek, watched movies with the gang, and one day when Graham, Jason, Christine, Danny Moss, Nick Taylor, and I went out for a hike in the woods of Ithaca.  The pictures are posted below.  Beyond that there’s not much else to report.  Graham and I got really lost driving down here…(okay I got really lost because I was driving and Graham was playing video games on his computer) and the trip which should’ve been 3 hours, took a little over 4.  Ah well, we can’t win them all.
