The Final Countdown

Well hey there everyone,

Long time no post on my end, and I’m sorry about that…it’s been a busy month.  I want to start this post off in a shameless plug for a show I am involved in.  Fenix Theatre Co. in Portland has been producing Shakespeare in the park this summer, and after a very successful run of Taming of the Shrew at the beginning of the summer, they are about to open A Midsummer Night’s Dream.  I am a co-fight director for the project alongside the absolutely amazing Sally Wood (this woman had a C-section about 2 weeks prior to the first rehearsal, and she’s out there teaching things and kicking ass and taking names).  It’s directed by Peter Brown who directed The History Boys for Madhorse Theatre Company, and having watched it, it’s gonna be awesome.  A couple shoutouts to the cast as well, Seth Rigoletti (my drama teacher at Waynflete) is playing Demetrius, and Vano Kimmel (graduated from Waynflete with me, is now an Acting major at Clairmont) is playing a fairy in the fairy ensemble.  I’ve loved working on the show, and I can’t wait to see it, and you all should too.  It opens wendesday, and runs wednesday through saturday starting at 6 o’clock and runs for two weeks.

Observe the Sons…

Hey everyone, this is part two of updating what’s been going on in my life.  This one dedicated to the theatrical things I’ve personally been involved in.

Evil Dead: The Musical, opened and closed as a roaring success.  We had 65 or so people come each night, and everyone left with positive remarks.  A bunch of people have commented about how they’d rather see this on Halloween night instead of Rocky Horror Picture Show, so we call the whole experience a win.  I’d like to thank each of the people involved in the show, both cast and crew, and I know I’ll forget people, so if you don’t see your name here and you worked on the show…you’re thanked.  Thanks to: Matt Musgrove, Angelica Duncan, Nicole Intravia, Marcin Pawlikiewicz, Elizabeth Hake, Danny Lindgren for being a wonderful cast to work with; thanks to: Nick Bombacino, Pete Kielar, Nia Sciarretta, Sledge Shendge, Natalie Scott, Jason Barrera, Kendra Slack, and many more for being an awesome production team and crew.  If I have forgotten you in that list, I apologize greatly…don’t hurt me.

I was also involved in a staged reading of an irish show by Frank McGuinness called: Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards the Somme.

Evil Dead: The Musical

Hey everyone,

As you can tell from what’s written as the title of this post, I am part of a new show!  It will be going up the weekend after Halloween, on Friday and Saturday the 7th and 8th of November.  It will be a midnight run, running from 11PM to 1AM on both nights.  This is both to show that it is on par with Rocky Horror Picture Show in terms of campy Halloween value, and to make sure that people can see Evil Dead after seeing Ithaca College’s mainstage production of Andrew Lippa’s Wild Party, and Triple Threat Theatre’s production of Bare.

What is written above, however, will be the last time that I refer to the title of said show in this post, because a certain rights granting company would not be happy with me to discover that we were putting on this show.  Therefore I will take the minimal list in saying it once, and not say it again.  I will say, however, that this musical is going to be hilarious, offensive, raunchy, and filled with as much cheesy blood and gore as we can muster.
