Cabaret and Reviews

Hey everyone,

It’s been a busy few days and it’s about to get a whole lot worse, and I will absolutely not be posting for the next week, just not enough hours in the day.  So I thought I’d let you know what’s been going on in my life:

First off it’s review time.  This friday (the 17th) is my vocal review for the department of theatre arts.  Myself and the other Musical Theatre freshmen will be going in alphabetical order and perform two 90 second songs for the performance faculty, and any of the students who wish to watch.  We watched the sophomore last week and it was phenomenal, so hopefully we can match up to them.  I myself am performing “My Romance” from Jumbo (an early Rogers and Hart musical), and “Goodbye” from I Love You Because (a modern show loosely based off Pride and Prejudice).  I am third on friday, and hopefully everything goes well!
My next review is on monday the 20th, and I have my acting review.  I am performing a scene from Picnic with Amberlee Weber; I am playing Hal, and she is playing Madge.  We’ve had great success in our rehearsals so I’m kind of itching to get review past us.  Hopefully that goes well also.

Secondly we have Freshman Cabaret coming up.  People should come see that because it’s going to be really good. It’s on wednesday the 22nd, and features 22 members of the freshman class of 2012.  Fountain TestingSongs are featured from shows such as: All Shook Up, I Love You Because, Songs For a New World, Smokey Joe’s Cafe, and more!  Come see it, it’s going to be really good.

Exciting news around Ithaca College include the fountains being turned back on (See photo at left), they were testing them one at a time yesterday including the sequence of fountains so hopefully those will be all the way on soon.  They look gorgeous and they really add to the look of the campus…the empty concrete pool just wasn’t attractive.
Easter Muller ChapelAlso easter has come and gone and I took my first trip to the Muller Chapel here on campus.  It is an odd little thing, and has a stadium seating system and is quite small and new age.  It was a nice little service, but it was very informal, the kind of thing that would not go over at Saint Luke’s Cathedral back home.  However it has these beautiful windows that look out over our pond in the middle of campus, so it was really a gorgeous place to spend easter.

Beyond that I really have no news, I hope all is well and I will post again after review.  Best to everyone,

~Ned Donovan
