Homeward Bound
Hey everyone,

Ali enjoys stomach rubs

Look how content she looks!
I made it home from Ithaca without a hitch. Two of my suitemates (Max Lorn-Krause and Jason Barrera), Alyssa Darsa, and I headed out around 6pm from Ithaca after I finished my Paint Crew assignment for the day. With the exception of a little bit of weather around Albany it was a relatively uneventful trip. I dropped Max and Alyssa off in Newton MA at 12:15 and headed onward to Boston. After dropping Jason at the Berklee College of Music, I headed north, finally arriving in Maine at 3am.
I have to say that it is strange being home. I’m used to flurries everyday and relatively cold weather, but here the ground is bare and it is significantly colder. Upon waking the next morning, I went to L.L. Bean with my mother and decked me out in garb to prepare me for the long winter in upstate New York. I feel so cool now in my new hat, gloves, and boots. Add my comfy new slippers to the equation and I’m positively stylish (–yeah–no). Most exciting part of my day was playing with Ali though. I miss having a dog at school.
Thus far, I’ve connected with Addie Thompson, Genney Myers, and Anando Naqui. Anando, Addie and I went back to Waynflete today which was exciting. We saw the old teachers and students, went and got breakfast at Eggspectation, and then went back at Waynflete’s lunch break. After chatting with Taffy Field and Lowell Libby, Seth Rigoletti gave us a tour of the new theater. Oh My God. It is absolutely stunning and I can’t believe that I’m not going to get to perform on that stage. Kudos to Waynflete, however, for dealt designing a beautiful space and thinking through space for the different band and chorus’. It’s not the most sizeable space in the world, but it doesn’t need to be. Waynflete’s space is elegant, roomy, and serviceable. That’s what a high school theater should be and everything else is just overkill.

Fire Truck Fail

RIP Binga's Wingas (2004-2008)
Before I close that I am offering up two RIPs. Yesterday (September 23rd, 2004) Binga’s Winga’s burnt down. The cause of the fire is unknown, however the final point is that my favorite place to get some chicken wings and watch the game is gone. May you rest in peace Binga’s and maybe one day you will reopen. The second is for my one-time favorite breakfast spot. It appears that Big Mama’s Diner has closed it’s doors. When we went there this morning to get some food we were hoping to eat at Big Mama’s, only to discover that the door was locked and the windows were covered with paper which said “Papaya King ‘if we grill it, will you come?’” I’ve taken this to mean that Big Mama’s is no more. So long to two great restaurants, hopefully Binga’s will return and this new “Papaya King” won’t suck.
As a little announcement, I may be singing one last time at Anthony’s Italian Kitchen’s Dinner Theatre before it closes. There’s talk about an ex-performer show on December 20th. I’ll keep you all posted as to if that works out or not.
As a note this is first post using my phone, so I don’t know how this will appear on the site. When I get back to my computer we’ll see, so if it looks weird, that’s why.
